Artist in Residence
HSA sponsors an artist to work with the entire student body on a one-week project with focus on disciplines such as dance, songwriting, performance art, painting, sculpting, etc. The murals around the school are some of the beautiful results. The students have also participated in a drum performance and produced a CD of songs written by each classroom.
Assemblies
Throughout the year, HSA sponsors several special interest school assemblies (anti-bullying, teamwork, magic, science,
etc.) for our students.
Attendance
To report your child’s absence, call the attendance hotline at 262.789.6588 before 8:50am to prevent an unexcused absence.
Band
Offered to 6th grade students. An interest form will be sent home at the end of their 5th grade year. Group & individual instrument practice occurs during the school day. Two concerts: Winter and Spring.
Birthday Board
We post a birthday board next to the lunchroom (Commons) with our students’ birthdays. Summer birthdays are celebrated on their half-birthdays. The students also receive a special birthday pencil from HSA.
Birthday Treats
Check with your individual teachers regarding their classroom rules. Although the school is not nut-free– individual classrooms may restrict certain foods due to allergies. Treats need to be individually wrapped.
Bi-Monthly HSA General Meeting
Join us once every other month and be part of the planning for events and spending funds. Occasionally we bring in speakers (teachers, NBPD, Park & Rec, anti-bully speakers, SDNB nurse).
Book Fair
Fall/Winter and Spring Scholastic Book Fairs. Students visit the fair with their class during library time and have the opportunity to purchase books and novelties. Scholastic dollars to use toward classroom books. Volunteers are always needed.
Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts
Pack 41, Reagan’s Cub Scout Pack is open to boys from K-5th grade. In 6th grade, the boys can be part of Troop 41. Contact Dave Bengs for more information - [email protected]
Bus Buddies
During Fall semester, Kindergarten students are paired with 6th graders to escort them to and from their classrooms and buses.

Coordinated by our Student Council - a fun week of activities honoring Dr. Seuss and the love of reading! Crazy Hat Day, Green Day, Favorite Character Day, Crazy Sock Day, D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) Day.
Drop Off Students
Prior to 8:50am, students may be dropped off at the front of the school in the drop off line. After 8:50am, students need to go through the office to receive a tardy pass. Parents must call the office prior to 8:50am for the tardy to be excused.

A newsletter emailed 2 times each month from the school office with important dates and information.
Eagle Time (aka WIN Time)
Block of time each day for students to receive focused instruction as needed; students meet in smaller groups with additional staff.

Fun Run Fundraiser
The BIG fundraiser of the year to raise money for HSA…so we can sponsor a lot of events & activities for our students throughout the school year.
Family Dance
Friday night in the Fall and Spring fun for the entire family! Kids must bring a chaperone. DJ in the gym, snacks in the Commons. Parents MUST stay.
Family Movie Night
Wear your pajamas, bring a blanket, pillow, some non-sticky snacks and join us on the gym floor to watch a recently released movie with your friends. This event is free and we usually offer one in the Fall and in the Spring. Parents MUST stay.
Family & Field Trip Assistance
If you need help paying for a school-related activity (i.e. field trips), contact your classroom teacher or Mrs. Patterson.
Fine Arts Nights
Evening of entertainment in the Spring. Mrs. Schilling and grade-level teachers work with the students to put together a performance (Kindergarten, 1st/2nd graders, 3rd/4th graders, and 5th/6th graders).
Gallery Night
Stroll through the school and enjoy the beautiful artwork on display completed by all of our students in their art classes. Light snacks and music add to the ambiance.
Girl Scouts
Each grade level (K-6th) has a troop. Meetings are after school or in the evening. Contact the office to find a contact for your daughter.
Group Photo Day
In the winter, a photographer comes to school to take a picture of each club/group for the Yearbook.
Infinite Campus
The School District of New Berlin and Ronald Reagan Elementary use Infinite Campus for classroom info (teacher blogs, etc.), lunch menus, school directory, school fees, report cards, calendar, etc. It’s the official place to find out school information. Also, emails from the school are sent to the email address you provide in Infinite Campus. Get your login from the School Office.
Jump Rope for Heart
Reagan sponsored. Students jump rope during gym class. Pledges are collected for the American Heart Association.
Kindergarten Kickoff
A fun gathering at the school playground or local park for all new kindergarten families to get to know each other prior to the school year.
Kindergarten Orientation
In May, new parents come to Ronald Reagan to meet the principal, assistant principal and Kindergarten staff. Discuss expectations for the school year and answer questions.
New Family Breakfast
October. Breakfast in the Ronald Reagan Commons before school starts for all new Reagan families.
News Team
Daily school news presented first thing in the morning by our team of 5th & 6th grade students with the Pledge of Allegiance, special announcements, birthdays, lunch menu and the weather report.
Open House/supply drop-off
Typically this is the week before school starts in the evening. Class lists will be posted, meet your teacher and drop off your school supplies.
Orchestra
Offered to 5th and 6th grade students. An interest form will be sent home at the end of their 4th grade year. Practice occurs during the school day. Two school concerts and one district-wide concert (see Stringfest).
Outdoor Classroom
Located on the East side of Reagan, each grade level has a section of the garden. It is often the location for teachers to bring their students for a change of scenery or used as an extension of the classroom.

Fall conferences are scheduled by classroom teachers. Spring conferences are optional.

Picture Day
Mid to late August; 2 dates are offered. Students get their school picture taken, sign up for Scouts, check out fundraiser info, spirit wear, sign up for committees. A make-up picture day is offered in October for retakes or anyone who missed August picture day.
Pick-Up Students (prior to end of school day)
For mid-day appointments: Parents sign out child(ren) in yellow book and wait in the school office for children to arrive.
End of school day pick-up– prior to 3:50pm: Parents/guardians sign your child(ren) out. You will need to wait in the lobby area for child(ren) to arrive.
Pick-Up Students (end of school day)
All families are provided with a number hanger. Enter the parent pick up line off of National and follow the flow of traffic around the back of the building to pick up your child(ren). Children are released at 3:50pm.
Pizzingo
New for 2024! This is a family event that combines pizza and bingo. There will be food, prizes and fun! Parents must stay with children.
Printer Cartridges
Used printer cartridges are turned in for $$ for our school. Cartridges can be placed in the designated bin in the copyroom next to the office.
Reagan Gives Back
A week of giving in the Spring… from blood drives to hair locks donations to Pennies with Patients.
Rockin’ Reagan Day
Ronald Reagan’s version of an all-day outdoor field day. Tons of fun for the kids! HSA pays for the inflatables used at the event and asks for volunteers and donations (water balloons, sponges, ice pops). Drip, drip…SPLASH!!

Sixth Grade Promotion
A committee is formed by interested parents to plan events and the promotion ceremony for the 6th grade class. The HSA has a binder with ideas & plans from previous years.

Spirit Days
Sponsored by Student Council. Pajama Day, Twin Day, Quiet Day, Decade Day, Sports Day, Stuffed Animal Day, Spirit Wear Day. Dates and info will be sent home or included in the Eagle Express.
Spirit Wear
Everyone needs a shirt, hat, sweatshirt or bumper sticker with Ronald Reagan on it! Spirit wear sales typically happen twice a year (beginning of school year and midyear).
Staff Appreciation Week
Typically the first week of May, HSA provide staff with treats from chocolate fountains to lunch to small tokens of appreciation. Students are encouraged to thank a teacher this week too.
Staff Favorite Things

Staff Funding Requests
Our staff can request for reimbursement for classroom expenses out of the HSA budget. This is in addition to the 10% kickback they receive from the money raised via the Fun Run.
Stringfest
All orchestra students from the New Berlin School District (4 Elem, 2 Junior Highs & 2 High Schools) get together for a day and practice. The Evening Concert at NB West is amazing!
Student Artwork Fundraiser
Student artwork fundraiser. Students work on the art piece throughout the year during free time in art class. Orders are typically delivered in early May.
Student Council
Two students are elected from each 4th-6th grade classroom and work with teacher advisors to provide spirit days and candy/trinket sales throughout the year. All classrooms are updated by these students providing a report as well as by the news team.
Student/Staff Lunch Raffle
Students turn in as many $1 tickets as you want for a chance to share a pizza lunch with your favorite staff member. Usually offered once per year in Spring.
Sunshine committee
HSA committee that handles the New Family Breakfast, Conference dinners, Concert appreciation gifts, Teacher Appreciation Week, Staff-student lunch drawing, etc.
Talent Show
Tryouts are open to 6th grade students to fill a number of slots. Talent show is presented to the entire school in the afternoon; families are encouraged to attend.
Trunk or Treat
HSA sponsored event an evening in October when families volunteer to decorate their vehicles in the Ronald Reagan parking lot. Kids dress up in costumes and Trick or Treat. Best decorated vehicles win prizes based on collective vote.
